Assesses short-term visual memory.
This is the ability to remember visual information in the short term. In everyday life we often need to orientate ourselves using visual cues. Visual short-term memory is a key facet of memory and one that is relevant to various questions that arise in personnel selection and traffic psychological assessment. For example, it is relevant to the assessment of various requirements associated with office activities and the assessment of professional drivers in traffic psychological assessments – especially in manufacturing & safety assessments.

A town plan is displayed for a short time. Various symbols, such as a cross for a hospital and a book for a library, are marked on the plan. The respondent must remember the type and position of the symbols. He/she is then asked about the position of particular symbols. The respondent marks the position of the symbol on the town plan and is immediately informed whether the answer is correct.
